i THINK we can... i THINK we can...

Well, the day has come once again.

Currently, Justin and I are buzzing around the second floor of my parents home in New Jersey getting things situated to leave the comforts of modern life and step back out into the untamed wilderness and start walking north. If you need some refreshing, here's a quick synopsis:

Some time in 2009 we decided to Thru-Hike the Appalachian Trail, as we were dreaming of our trip we felt we needed to bring awareness to something that meant a lot to us. We learned about charity: water in this time and knew that this was a cause that we could really support and we had a ton of faith in the organization. We decided to raise funds and awareness for charity: water during our hike. After tons of planning and selling just about everything we owned we took our first steps on the Appalachian Trail on May 5 of this year. A few weeks later, while enjoying the brisk air of the Smoky Mountains, Justin rolled his foot on a rock and unknowingly fractured a bone. Two weeks later we finally saw a doctor and he confirmed the injury and we rented a car from northern Tennessee and drove to Pennsville, NJ where we've been staying since then.

Now the foot is healed, we've been living like kings and queens and we're more than ready to get back to it. We've decided to pick up the trail in Harpers Ferry, WV, the midpoint of the trail, and also where the AT Conservancy headquarters are located and tomorrow morning my parents will drive us down and say farewell so we can once again be uncomfortable, hot, hungry and tired (have i mentioned that we miss this?!).

The timing for us getting back on the trail couldn't be more perfect. The second out of the three campaigns we planned on hosting for charity: water has just expired. We were able to launch a new campaign tonight to see us through to Mount Katahdin in Maine and we have a renewed energy and passion to bring clean water to TWO different communities.

We want to challenge YOU, our friends, family and followers to step up to our challenge. To meet our initial goal of $10,000 for charity: water we'll need to raise $7, 633 in the next 90 days, do you think we can do it? I do!

Justin and I will be doing our part by living day to day on the Appalachian Trail, each day we are literally putting ourselves in the shoes of those we're hoping to find a clean water solution for; finding drinking water is our number one concern each and every day. We hope that as we continue on this journey you will partner with us to meet this goal.

We know that this is a lot of money to raise in 90 days, but we also know that together we can accomplish it and more. Please take a moment and watch one of my favorite videos about our cause and when you're done, swing by our mycharitywater.org page and make a donation today!
