THE PROBLEM: WATER
In the U.S., water is mostly an afterthought: we simply turn on the tap and it's always there. However, throughout the world 1 in every 8 people don't have access to clean water - that's nearly 850 million people.
Contaminated water is responsible for more deaths in devloping nations than any single disease or act of violence - including war.
Heard enough? So did we. This April we will embark on a nearly 2,200 mile journey along the Appalachian Trail in an effort to raise awareness and funding to make a difference in this crisis. On WalkToWater.com, you can find out more about who we are, what we're doing, and how you can help!
Help us make the 5 million steps that we take become steps that 2 communities will never have to walk again to gather water!
